Yumeji: A Beloved Okayama Confectionery

A local specialty that carries the nostalgic spirit of a bygone era.

Takehisa Yumeji was a celebrated poet and painter who embodied the romanticism of Japan’s Taisho era (1912–1926). Shikishimado, a confectionery founded in Oku Town, Okayama Prefecture, the birthplace of Yumeji, takes great pride in this distinguished local artist. The company even incorporated the name “Takehisa Yumeji Honpo” into its own name as a tribute to his legacy.

Named after the artist, Yumeji is one of Shikishimado’s signature Japanese confections and a much-loved local specialty.

A Delicate Blend of Butter, Milk, and White Bean Paste

Its exceptionally smooth texture seems to melt in your mouth, while its refined sweetness unfolds gently with every bite. Enjoy Yumeji as a delightful souvenir from Okayama or as a treat alongside a cup of tea.
